Standard lipstick size without the packaging, they are earth-friendly, 100% zero waste, and versatile. Each Balmie is packed full of vegan ingredients such as oils, butters, and antioxidants that nourish and hydrate skin.

Packaging: Wrapped in recyclable paper. The boxes are handmade from recycled trash by a women’s cooperative in Bali.

Size: .12 oz. Balmies are the standard lipstick size but appear tiny because there is no plastic lipstick tube. 

End of Life: Tear and recycle paper wrapped around crayon. Recycle or compost red box once Balmie crayon is all used up.

How to Use: Apply directly to eyes, lips + cheeks and blend in with fingers.

*Balmie crayons are wrapped in paper to reduce packaging waste. Since there’s no plastic tube, they may arrive with the occasional dent or scratch.

Great pigmentation

I like using this crayon all over my face, lips, cheeks and eyelids. I do have to set up on eyelids with a powder for making sure the color stays put, otherwise doesn't. But great pigmentation and beautiful brown color.

Crumbly, grainy, difficult to work with

I really wanted to like this, because something subtle, multi-purpose, and plastic-free is right up my alley. I've tried to use it at least weekly for the last several months, thinking maybe once it warmed up or I figured out the trick it would be ok. It arrived hard and grainy, which made it difficult to work with. This didn't improve over time, and it has since just crumbled into unusable pieces. I loved the idea of a little box, but it doesn't stay closed in a bag, which invites a mess.

Compact and bright

This is my first purchase from this brand, so I’m not sure if this is a replacement for a reusable tube. Either way I’m not bothered by the packaging and leaving the little tube in the paper packaging is fine for me. I got this to use primarily on my lips. Really great, lasting color.
